  2. Password reset through text message- A 6-digit security code will be sent to the registered mobile number. Enter this code and click Next. After this, you can create a new password.
  3. Password reset through email- A 6-digit security code will be sent to the registered email address. Enter this code and click Continue. You may be asked to confirm your card number. After this, you can create a new password.
  4. Password reset by answering security questions- Enter your answers one by one in given field the and click on Continue. You may be asked to confirm your card number. After this, you can create a new password.
  5. Password reset by confirmation through Facebook Messenger- Click on Send Code button and enter the 6-digit security code sent to your Messenger and click Confirm. After this, you can create a new password.

Recover PayPal email address

Adding a card

Method 1:

  • Go to your PayPal Wallet.
  • Click on ‘Add a card’ button present below ‘Debit and credit cards’ option.
  • Select the type of card you wish to add.
  • Enter the details related to the card in the specified columns.
  • Click on the ‘Save’ option to save your card successfully.

Method 2:

  • Open your PayPal account and go to Settings.
  • Tap on the ‘Banks and Cards’ option.
  • Click on the ‘+’ sign on the top-right corner and select Debit or credit card.
  • Enter the details related to the card in the specified columns.
  • Click on the ‘Save’ option to save your card successfully.

Confirming the card

  • Go to your PayPal Wallet.
  • Click the card you want to confirm and then select OK.
  • When you click ‘OK’, a charge £1 will be deducted from your account. This will ‘link’ your card to your account. This deducted amount will be credited back to your PayPal account within 24 hours of your card confirmation.
  • A code will appear on your screen immediately or after a few days.
  • Once you know the code to confirm your card, go to Wallet again.
  • Click the card that you are ready to confirm.
  • Enter the code and click on the Confirm button to confirm your card.

Note: The steps for confirming a Maestro card are a little different. To confirm your Maestro card, go to Wallet, click the card you want to confirm and click on the OK button.

Unable to update a bank account on PayPal account

Problems sometime occur while trying to update or edit the details of any bank linked to your PayPal account. To update/ edit your bank account, you first need to remove the account and then add it again with the modified details. Steps to remove and re-add a bank account are given below:

  • Go to your PayPal Wallet.
  • Click the bank account you want to remove and click on Remove Bank button. The account is now removed successfully.
  • Next, click on Add bank account button.
  • Select the ‘Account type’, enter the ‘Sort code’ and ‘Account numbers’.
  • Check the details entered and click on Add Bank Account.
  • Your bank account is added with PayPal now with correct details.

Note: If a bank is being used as the funding source for a PayPal payment that is currently in process, then you will not be able to remove it until the payment completes.
